I graduated from the University of Huddersfield in 2009 with a BSc(Hons) in Podiatry and worked for the NHS for nearly 15 years. My NHS role involved working in hospital and community clinics, treating both adults and children in a diverse community. I specialised as a musculoskeletal podiatrist and this remains my primary interest, however I also worked in specialist clinics treating patients with diabetes or circulation problems affecting their feet, such as foot wounds. More recently I have been working part-time in a military rehabilitation team as well as working for myself, and I enjoy the variety that each role brings.
I am a runner and have experienced my share of running injuries. I know how frustrating these can be when you have a goal in mind! I have volunteered as a podiatrist at the London Marathon on several occasions, providing immediate care to those crossing the finishing line as well as having a great opportunity to see ‘the other side’ of such a big event. In the summer of 2022 I was part of the medical team at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, working as a podiatrist for athletes and officials.
