Musculoskeletal Podiatry

Musculoskeletal podiatry involves the assessment and treatment of problems affecting the bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints of the leg and foot.

A podiatrist will consider a person’s biomechanics and how this may be relevant to their pain. This includes gait analysis.

Treatment may include stretching and/or strengthening exercises, footwear advice and orthoses (insoles).

Foot Care

The assessment and treatment of skin or nail problems.

Treatment may include removal of hard skin, nail cutting or nail surgery, as well as advice regarding prevention or self-management, or orthoses.

Diabetic Feet

People who have diabetes are at greater risk of experiencing problems with their feet due to the effect diabetes can have on the body.

Podiatrists assess and provide treatment and advice to reduce the risk of foot ulcers, infection or amputation.

Orthoses

Foot orthoses (insoles) are used to reduce pain, prevent ulceration or reduce the build up of callus (hard skin).

Orthoses are provided on an individual basis following assessment and may be for short term use or lifelong.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about your foot problem and what I am able to offer.
